JOE BIDEN

Following Joe Biden has been relatively quiet, for the fact he is still undecided about running for the presidential electoral while he still holds the vice president position for our country. Joe Biden has been behind Obama these last eight years, his image hasn't changed one bit. From his time in senate, where he was a big factor in passing the 1994 Violence Against Woman Act, (as I mentioned in my last blog) and to his long run as VP, Joe Biden's goal has always been to fight for civil rights and the middle class. Biden even jokes that being known for his potty mouth and gaffes are reasons why he could never be President. Although, that’s an opinion, this year trump has sort of silenced those critics and still leads the polls. I believe this to be true, one thing that Biden has on his side is how relatable he is to others. This is displayed by his enthusiasm and determination to level the playing field and be stable once again. This is a positive for Joe Biden and should encourage the spotlight with his high energy and experience both in the field and in the white house.
Strengths: Been there, done that can be safely said about Joe Biden and his experience. Its his main strength. It is clear that this is a major advantage to other fellow candidates who also running. He was the youngest senate in Delaware and held that position for 40 years not to mention 8 years in the white house. In doing so has already giving him global recognition. That being said, many know his positions and what he stands for.
Weakness: Like I mentioned early, Joe Biden’s filter or lack of is usually the reason for him being criticized or talked about in the media negatively. Unfortunately, remarks such as his “intimacy” with former presidents have gotten him more attention on that rather that what he plans to do with issues that are forefront in America. Another weakness that can be seen is timing – just because since we’ve had democrats in office the last 8 years give the republican party a leg up… Or should I say Donald Trump a leg up.
Opportunity: His appeal is that he is the common man who has worked hard, gone through hardships and has overcome them honorable. He appeals to the middle class, and has shown dedication to them the past 8 years and very straightforward about a more stable country. His opportunity comes with being in the spotlight and knowing what it takes, having watch Obama do it, certainly gives him a opportunity.
Threat: two threats I see for Joe Biden is Hilary and Trump. Trump because it seems like everything he does America is appealing too. Second is Hilary and it started when people spoke out that Hilary was better suited than Biden for Vice president honors. the fact that she could be the first woman president, also makes it a threat to Joe Biden and all male Candidates.
Issues arise everywhere. It’s the person who controls the situation, not the other way around…
Jobs / Economy: This is a main focus for Joe Biden. Since being in office he has been a part of creating 10 million jobs and reduced taxes for the average middle class family, that has resulted to close to 4,000. These will continue to surface as he Campaigns.
Education: Biden understands the importance of the future depends on the young people, which explains why this is a top issue when it comes to Biden’s list.

Health Care: This has been an issue ever since, whether you agree with it or you don’t America does take it for granted the good that has come out of this new act. With this law, its nice to say you cant be denied health care.

  1. I like that you outline what the most important areas are for Biden, but what are some of his specific policies? You talk about health care and education but don't delve into what Biden actually believes or is advocating for on those-- and I think that'd be an interesting thing to know!

  2. Johnny,

I enjoyed reading your blog. It seems that out of all of the candidates Joe Biden may know the most since hes been in office so long. I believe those years of experience can help his run toward the White House. That being said I would like to know more about his specific policies on Education and Healthcare. Another interesting thing to know if how his image has changed over the years? Overall, I look forward to learning about Joe in future posts.

  3. Hey JR, liked the post. I was reading through the strengths and weaknesses, but I was curious. Do you think Biden has enough strengths to overcome his weaknesses in this campaign?

  4. Johnny, i have to agree with Jeremy about how long Joe has been in office, it feels like a decade and a half. His policies about Education caught my attention and i believe it is one of his bigger strengths of his campaign push, to never leaving the white house ever.

  5. Good work J-RICH. No doubt Biden has the experience on his side. He has been behind Obama since he has been elected which gives him the most presidential credibility versus anyone else who he is running against. His policies could be explained with a little greater detail but asides from that good work.
